Many thanks for your letter of the 9th. The solution suits me very well, though it is not in every respect perfectly tidy—and cannot be. I suppose that if anyone ever decides to work on my mss. and other materials he will have to get a special grant to chase them all over kingdom come. Actually, though, since I tend to have a lot of mimeographed material and offprints, tear sheets, etc., which will probably never come out in a book, a collection such as yours can be helpful to students even when it is not “the” collection. I shall certainly keep you in mind for material of this kind above all. And if I send you anything unique, a manuscript or something, if the Bellarmine or some other collection needs it they can contact you for a Xerox. I will inform them, and of course they will be glad to do the same for you. In this way I think that the various collections will supplement each other instead of competing—or appearing to do so.

I am mailing two more envelopes, and will continue to send things from time to time, including old materials as they turn up. I would say that I probably have a very unusual amount of material printed in strange out-of-the-way places and in publications to which few if any libraries in this country subscribe. So I will keep you in mind with all of these. And with future issues of Monks Pond.

A couple of items are enclosed.
